Partners & Supply Chains: Responsible Sourcing

Pure Energy Solutions for Sub-Saharan Africa

Our Commitment to Responsible Sourcing at Vert Energy Africa (Pty) Ltd

As a trusted and long-established distribution company, Vert Energy Africa is committed to operating responsibly, ethically, and sustainably across every part of our business. We understand that our customers rely on us to provide products and services that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and integrity.

To support this commitment, we follow strict Responsible Sourcing practices across our supply chain. This ensures that the suppliers we work with operate legally, ethically, and transparently, and that every product delivered to our customers upholds our core values and compliance requirements.

Our suppliers are essential partners who help us deliver reliable power and energy solutions. We therefore require all suppliers to engage in fair, lawful, and ethical business practices, and to actively address risks related to safety, modern slavery, human rights, labour standards, and environmental impact. Suppliers must demonstrate due diligence throughout our business relationship to ensure full transparency and accountability.

All suppliers providing goods or services to Vert Energy Africa—including agents, traders, consultants, contractors, and other intermediaries—are required to comply with all relevant laws, industry regulations, policies, and supply conditions.

To ensure our customers receive products they can trust, all suppliers working with Vert Energy Africa are expected to:

  • Protect health and safety in all operations
  • Protect the environment through responsible practices
  • Respect labour laws and human rights
  • Support positive community development
  • Conduct business ethically, fairly, and with integrity

We remain committed to working closely with our supply partners to reinforce these principles and ensure our responsible sourcing standards are met consistently.

Vert Energy Africa uses a structured Responsible Sourcing Standard (Supplier Code of Conduct) that outlines the expectations, obligations, and ethical requirements for all suppliers. This standard is embedded into our supplier onboarding, monitoring, and contracting processes.

Our suppliers are required to:

1. Commit to ethical business practices

All suppliers must comply with relevant laws and Vert Energy Africa policies, including Responsible Sourcing requirements.

2. Complete assessments and provide required information

Suppliers may be required to complete Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs), provide supporting documents, and update their information periodically. This may include disclosures regarding human rights, labour practices, environmental protections, and anti-slavery measures.

3. Provide evidence of third-party assessments

Where applicable, suppliers may need to submit proof of responsible sourcing audits or undergo an independent third-party assessment.

4. Address and close identified risks

If any Responsible Sourcing risks or non-compliances are identified, suppliers must notify us, implement corrective actions within agreed timeframes, and report their progress until the issues are resolved.
